The Palacio de Carlos V is a wholly unexpected structure in the Alhambra complex. The Renaissance-looking exterior complete with pilasters gives way to an interior reminiscent of a Roman gladiator arena.

I have the great priviledge of being able to see it every day and it’s amazing how the squared plan from the outside contrast the circled one on the inside.
