This is Ion Orchard, one of the crown jewels of Singapore’s shopping malls, captured during the glitziest season of the year- Christmas. The mall is joint venture between Capitaland and Sun Hung Kai Properties, the mall is a playground for the rich and trendy, with ultra-luxe brands like Harry Winston vying for your credit card (in my case, I’ll probably get barred at most shop fronts). The less well-heeled can lose themselves in the four subterranean basement levels.
Everybody is clustered under shelter for this photo because it was raining. But I made the trip specially to see the Christmas lights, and what’s a little water anyway. Fortunately, I am mostly satisfied with how the final product turned out, after a protracted battle with errant raindrops.
