Seats of Kings and Angels

The Barcelona Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Santa Eulalia, is a Catalan Gothic cathedral in the heart of Barri Gòtic. Its facade was undergoing restoration work when I visited, but ornate details gave hints of its former glory.

The main entrance to the Cathedral boasts a visually arresting archivolt, where a myriad of angels and wise men stand guard over all who enter.

  1. Interesting perspective on this shot; it tantalizes the view into wanting to see more! It seems to be the majesty of it all that strikes me. I’m using a Canon 5D. I only have shots of the woods and camping and stuff. LOL! Nothing that compares with this though. It must be exciting to travel and bring back all these fascinating pictures. You have a good eye for detail…

    • No accessible forest and woods where I’m at. Come to think of it, no grand monuments such as these either. One of these days I’ll have to camp out at a national park.
