The concert hall of Palau de la Música is a bright and airy auditorium regarded to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Stained glass panels with floral designs line the sides of the hall, while an inverted dome skylight dominates the ceiling. Sculptures of Catalan maidens seated under a stone tree, and of Wagner’s Valkyries form the great arch over the stage. On stage, a group of 18 muses from around the world greet the audience, each of them playing a musical instrument.
Able to seat over 2000 people, the concert hall is also one of the few in the world which can be completely illuminated by natural light in the day.
