Altar and Chancel, Granada Cathedral

DPP_1640_filtered

Undoubtedly the highlight of the Cathedral, the chancel is an intricately designed rotunda soaring way above the high altar. Above the high arches, scores of retables line the walls of the rotunda, followed by beautiful stained glass windows and culminating in a baby blue dome adorned with golden stars.

It almost feels like an art museum, nothing like any church I’ve visited.

  1. This is one of those photos that I can’t even imagine the setting existing because it’s so beautiful. The lighting under the arches is out of this world.
