Patio de los Leones

Patio de los Leones, or the Court of the Lions, is one of the more popular highlights of the Alhambra. Taking center stage is the Fountain of Lions, a basin flanked by twelve white marble lions. The courtyard itself boasts over 120 slim columns which are elaborately decorated with arabesques.

Sadly, the fountain was under restoration when I visited, and most of the courtyard was boarded up, with only the columns to hint at its grandeur.
