The Oriental Pearl Tower is a TV tower in Shanghai. Until the 2000’s, it was also the tallest building in China, until Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center came along. Sitting at the edge of the Pudong district, the tower is an unmissable landmark. Some consider it a blight on Shanghai’s skyline, I think it’s chock full of character.
The tower is 1500 ft tall, so the only way to get a shot like this is from a neighboring skyscraper, in this case, Grand Hyatt at Jin Mao Tower.
Edit: Oh my. This is the first time I’ve gotten this shade of salmon pink for my background.
