The Milan Cathedral

The Milan Duomo is a sprawling Gothic cathedral almost six centuries in the making. The exterior of the cathedral is one of the most elaborate I’ve seen- over three thousand statues and 135 marble spires adorning its facade. It is the last great structure in Italy’s Gothic phase, and is also the fourth largest cathedral in the world. One highlight of a visit to this Cathedral is to its roof, where you’ll get to wander around a vast landscape of sculptures, spires and pinnacles, while you gaze down at buzzing Milanese city life.
