A man studying the large complex of ruins known as Trajan’s Market, located on the Via dei Fori Imperiali. Thought to be the world’s oldest specially built retail arcade, they also doubled as administrative offices for Emperor Trajan. Although I didn’t wander around the interior of this place, it looked like a good place to spend a couple of hours being lost in, if exploring ruins is your thing.
This image previously appeared as a black and white. I think that the repetition of the arches, the texture of the bricks and the man’s position all combine to make this photo workable in both color or monochrome.
