La Serenissima, Venezia

Some accuse it of being too touristy and crowded, with prices that seem to be inspired by the pirates of the high seas. But at its best, it is hard to be immune to the charms of Venice. The quiet swishes of the gondola on the grand canal, the salty tang of the sea breeze, the picturesque maze of alleys and side streets, the colorful shops plying their wares. These are sights and experiences to be found only in the city of the “Most Serene”.
