Foliage, Kiyomizu-dera

The peerless Kiyomizu-dera, or Clear Water Temple, is often photographed at eye level. That classical shot is a perennial favourite because it affords a view of Kyoto, as well as the beautiful foliage that embraces the temple. It is not easy to find another more photogenic angle for the main hall. Nevertheless, I think this particular shot of the main hall would hold its own weight as well, with the building framed beautifully by the lush leaves of Spring.
