Seiho-ike, Heian Jingu

We visited Heian Jingu on a very overcast day. While it made for a very relaxing walk on the grounds of the shrine and its extensive gardens, this meant most of my photos looked very dreary. Seiho-ike, a large pond found in the east garden, was exceptionally lovely, ringed with trees and sakura blossoms while the hills of Higashiyama stood in the background. To compensate for the grey skies, I adjusted the saturation to only allow reds, giving the photo a surrealistic look. This is an effect I seldom use, as it becomes gimmicky very quickly.
