Orchard Road Lights 2013 – Tangs

Just because Christmas is over doesn’t mean I have to stop feeling christmas-y. No sirree. Over the next few posts, as we march into 2014, I will feature some festive lighting from Singapore’s shopping belt – Orchard Road. I hope you enjoy the virtual trip!

First up is one of the grand dames of Orchard Road, Tangs. Founded in the 1930s, this institution was recently given a much needed facelift. And for this year’s Christmas, it eschews the traditional Christmas tree in favor of peacock motifs, and greeting visitors is a mannequin resplendent in her peacock-inspired gown. The crowning glory is of course her headgear, which bursts into a explosion of peacock feathers.
