Patio de las Doncellas I

Patio de las Doncellas, or the Courtyard of the Maidens, derives its name from the tale where the Muslims demanded a hundred virgins a year from the Castile kingdoms. The colorful legend is most probably propaganda to spur the Christian kingdoms in retaking this part of Spain. I’ve rendered this very contrast-y image in black and white, and given it an otherworldly glow, just for the fun of it.
